cancer ravaged his body, but not his soul. When we lose someone, we mourn.
We cry for their pain, their fear and their sorrow, but mostly we mourn for
ourselves and our loss, for all the things that are forever gone except in
our memories, for that which we can’t replace, for that which will never be
again; for all that he was to us; our husband, father and our friend; for
his humor, his impressions, his sensitive side others may not have seen; for
the storyteller, the bass player and the cook; for the music lover from Blue
Oyster Cult to Warren Zevon, Neil Diamond and the Talking Heads; Monty
Python lover and Eagles fan – Go Eagles!; for the keeper of trivia and odd
things and a Manchester United fan; for all that he was to us.
