Robert A. "Sammy" Cromis

Robert A. “Sammy” Cromis, 66, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. He was born in Danville PA on January 18, 1952, the son of the late Freeman L. and Arlyle Cromis. 

He graduated from Danville Area High School. 

Bob and Kathleen English were together for 20 years until her passing January 10, 2016.   

He was employed by Geisinger Medical Center in the Housekeeping Department, from where he retired. 

Bob was a member of the Continental Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company in Danville PA. 

An avid outdoorsman, Bob loved fishing and going hunting with his friends at the cabin.  He also enjoyed shooting pool, playing shuffleboard and being with his friends at Continental Fire Company.  A few of his other enjoyments included playing golf and vegetable gardening.  The time he spent with his grandchildren were his greatest moments in life. 

He is survived by his stepson, Tracey A. Koser and his wife Tina Koser, with whom he resided for the past five years and two step-daughters; Dorothy Hoffman and her husband, Tom of Watsontown PA and Jennifer Warner and her husband Arnie of Danville PA as well as one step-son Bill English and his wife Linda of Millersburg PA; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived are three brothers; Freeman L. Cromis, Jr. of West Milton PA; James Cromis of Unityville PA and William Cromis of Danville and one sister, Marilyn C. Taylor and her husband Don Taylor of Washingtonville PA.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by one brother; Jerry Cromis.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 West Mahoning Street, Danville, PA. Friends will be received from 12:30 PM until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA. 

 The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Continental Fire Company One Meadow Lane Danville PA  17821.
