Frederick Wolke, 84, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by
his family on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his residence. He was born April
22, 1934 in Union City, New Jersey, the son of the late Otto W. and Margaret
graduated from Lincoln High School in Jersey City NJ and later from Rutgers
University with a degree in Pharmacology in 1956.
a devoted husband, married for 62 years, to Eleanor “Ellie” Thorpe Wolke,
who survives. They were married December 25, 1955.
was employed as a Pharmacist and the Director of Pharmacy for JFK Medical
Center in Edison NJ for 15 years and as Vice President of Pharmacy for the
Geisinger Health Plan in Danville PA, from where he retired in 1999. Otto
was also employed as a Pharmacist for various retail pharmacies. After his
retirement, he was a Pharmacy Consultant for PACE.
a charter member of The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, the American
Institute of the History of Pharmacy and the President of the Monmouth/Ocean
County Pharmaceutical Society.
enjoyed reading, stamp collecting and gardening. He was a kind man with a
very generous heart and love for his family, whom he adored.
addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Alan E. Wolke and his wife
Nancy of Bound Brook NJ and Paul O. Wolke and his wife Kimberly of
Washington NJ and two daughters; Beth W. Robinson and her husband Gary of
Monroe NY and Louise M. Belensz and her husband Alan of Ballston Lake NY.
also survived by seven grandchildren; Alex, Adam, Maggie, Kate, Hannah, Zoe
and Jovie. Also surviving is one brother, Ernest Wolke of Norton Ohio and
several nieces and nephews
preceded in death by one son, Glen Wolke, in infancy and four brothers;
Henry, Frederick, Herbert and Robert Wolke and one sister, Margaret Burr.
Celebration of Otto’s Life will be private and at the convenience of the
