John E. Corman

John E. Corman, 87, of Danville PA passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  He was born January 27, 1931 in Danville PA the son of the late John R. and Helen A. Bressler Corman. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 1948.  He furthered his education at Dickinson College graduating with a bachelorís degree in Education in 1952 and a masterís Degree from Bucknell University in 1955. 

John was well known by his students as a dedicated American History teacher which included Problems of Democracy.  He taught in the Watsontown School District from 1953-1958.  Following this, he continued as a History teacher in the Warrior Run School District from 1958-1999. While there, he served as a Varsity Basketball Coach from 1958-1960 and then as the Athletic Director for 14 years from 1960-1973.  He thoroughly enjoyed golfing.  Johnís greatest fulfillment in life was his teaching career.  

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville since April 14, 1941 serving as a Trustee for two terms; a member of Frosty Valley Country Club since 1962 and served for 36 years on the Danville Municipal Authority from 1979-2014. 

John is survived by one brother, William Corman and his wife Alice of Meadowbrook PA.  Also surviving is one niece, Jeanne Corman of Wilmington Delaware and two nephews; Richard Corman of Ontario Canada and John Corman of Harleysville PA. and Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services  to be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Danville 12 Brookside Drive Danville PA (off 642 East) with his pastor the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM Ė 10:45 AM. 

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Thomas Beaver Free Library 205 Ferry Street Danville PA 17821.
