Jason Troy Russell, “Jake”, 44, of Danville, PA,
formerly of New Brunswick, Canada, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
He was born June 26, 1974 in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, Canada the son of
Vincent G. and the late Lorraine Anchurak Russell.
He was married for six years to Amie Lutz Russell. They
were married on April 14, 2012.
Jason was known to be a hard worker, working for many
years in the oil fields. He was highly respected by his friends and
colleagues who often called him Bacon and Papa Jake. Jason was employed in
maintenance at PP&L contracted through DRA and as an Operations Manager at
Jason grew up loving the game of hockey. He was a
skilled goaltender and played local hockey until he moved away for work as a
young adult. Jason was a devoted father who believed his greatest
achievement was his two children.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by
two sons; Channing and Ledger Russell, both at home; two sisters, Tracey
Ross and her husband Bruce and Tammy Tocheniuk and her husband Greg; both of
Canada. Jason is also survived by his step-mother, Pauline Russell of Canada
and his mother-in-law JoAnn Montalvo; two brothers-in-law, Michael Lutz and
his wife Sara and Ryan Montalvo and his wife Melanie; both of Berwick, PA.
He is also survived by one niece, Amara and two nephews, Noah and Nixon.
In addition to his mother, Jason was pre-deceased by
his maternal grandfather, Michael Ancharuk; his maternal grandmother, Zelda
Ancharuk; his paternal grandmother, Winifred Russell; his paternal
grandfather Truman Russell and aunt, Peggy Jean Russell.
The Russell family requests that you hold Jason close
in your mind, in your heart and in your spirit.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a
Celebration of Jason’s Life to be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at
Visneski Funeral Home, Inc, 42 W. Mahoning Street, Danville, PA 17821 at
1:00 PM with the Reverend Charles Chamberlain of Bloomsburg Southern Baptist
Church officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 PM until the time of
service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide flowers. In Jason’s memory,
memorial contributions may be made to further the education of his sons,
whom he adored, to Service 1st Federal Credit Union Scholarship
