Betty A. Hack

Betty A.  Hack, 96, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her residence.  She was born December 11, 1921 in Danville PA, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Goodall Brent. 

She was married for 44 years to the late Walter C. Hack who preceded her in death

on September 16, 1982.  They were married August 30, 1938. 

Betty was a homemaker and dedicated her life to raising and caring for her children.  In later years, she worked for the Old Dutch Bakery and for Brown’s Catering; both in Danville PA. 

Her family will remember her for the joy she experienced in reading, vegetable and flower gardening and canning hundreds of jars of fruits, vegetables and jellies.  She also enjoyed doing word puzzles.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored, brought her much happiness throughout her life. 

She was a member of St. Paul’s Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Danville PA. 

She is survived by three sons; Clark W. Hack and his Wife Ruth Ann of Danville PA; John E. Hack and his wife Betsy of Danville PA and Robert James Hack and his wife Shirley E. Hack of Bloomsburg PA and four daughters, Carol A. Jones of Danville PA; Nancy K. Blosky and her husband Jack of Perkasie PA; Mary Lou McMichael and her husband Larry of Danville PA and Linda M. Ammerman of Bloomsburg PA.  Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Betty was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Raymond, Frank and Robert and two sons-in-law; Donald Jones and Harold Ammerman. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Howard Woodruff officiating.  Friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of service.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association PO Box 15829 Arlington VA  15829.
