ďJeanĒ Reeder Eveland, 88, of 416 Pine Street Danville PA made her journey
home to be with her Lord Thursday, February 1, 2017 at her residence. She
was born June 10, 1928 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Beatrice V.
was married to the late James R. Eveland who preceded her in death on
February 10, 1999. They were married February 21, 1948 in Hagerstown MD.
graduated from Danville High School in 1946 where she was a majorette for
four years and from the Harrisburg Business School. In her earlier years.
she worked as a supervisor for the Naval Photographic Center for several
years before moving to Danville in 1972. Jean worked for the former
District Justice Robert Geiger when she relocated to Danville and was later
employed as the Secretary for the Planning Commission and Food Pantry of the
Montour County Courthouse for 15 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement,
Jean enjoyed working part-time taking photos for PA Driverís Licenses in
was a member of St. Paulís Emmanuel United Methodist Church Danville PA.
Her other memberships included the Danville VFW, American Legion Post #40,
Danville Moose and the Eastern Star.
loved all aspects of photography. She also had a deep love for all kinds of
music and especially enjoyed shopping. Many loving memories will be
cherished by her family whom she adored spending holidays and special
survived by her daughter; Pamela J. Mauray and her husband Richard of
Elysburg PA and one granddaughter; Kimberly L. Guyer and her husband Timothy
of Lewisburg PA. Also surviving is her companion, Harold Gottshall of
was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Deck.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held
Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West
Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Joan Brown of Grace United
Church of Christ Mount Carmel PA officiating. Friends will be received from
10:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will be private in Strawberry
Ridge Cemetery Washingtonville PA. The family will provide flowers.
