CELEBRATION OF LIFE UPDATE {January 10, 2018}:  

A Celebration of Life for Felix E. Olshefski, Jr., 78, of Bloomsburg PA and formerly of Danville PA will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Christian Gospel Fellowship 2938 State Route 42 Millville PA with Pastor Paul Converse officiating. 

Felix was married for 58 years to JoAnn McCormick Olshefski, who survives.  They were married March 7, 1959. 

In addition to his wife, Felix is survived by two sons; Randi S. Olshefski and his wife MaryLou Potter of Danville PA and Wade A. Olshefski of Orangeville PA and

and two daughters; Holly J. Cross of Lewisburg PA and Judy A. Myers and her husband Jeffrey L. of S. Williamsport PA.  He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is one sister, Carol Snyder of Riverside PA.  He was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Jessamyn A. Myers in 2012.

The family will provide flowers.   Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 40, 175 Northumberland Street Danville PA 17821.

OBITUARY:

Felix E. Olshefski, Jr., 78, of Bloomsburg PA and formerly of Danville PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his residence.   He was born June 20, 1939 in Danville PA the son of the late Felix E. Olshefski, Sr. and the late Pauline Cashner Mackert. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 1957 and served his country for 11 years in the United States Army Reserves. 

Felix was married for 58 years to JoAnn McCormick Olshefski, who survives.  They were married March 7, 1959. 

He was employed as a chemical operator for Merck and Company and Glyco Chemicals in Williamsport and as a machinist and a truck driver for American Home Foods, UPS, Interstate System Trucking and Textron, from where he retired in 1992.  

Felix was a member of Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church in Danville PA.  He was also a member of American Legion Post 40 in Danville PA and the Central PA Airstream Club. 

He loved to hunt and loved traveling with his Airstream, most notably his trip with his wife from Alaska to Baja, Mexico.  Felix was always interested in people’s lives and spent his winters at the Traveler’s Rest Resort in Florida.  He was a devoted husband and father as well as a source of quiet strength for all of his family whom he adored.
