Robert M. "Bob" Styer

Robert M. "Bob" Styer, Sr., 69, of Riverside PA passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2016 surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter in Milton PA.   He was born December 1, 1946 in Lewisburg PA, the son of John E. Styer of Milton PA and the late Helen Hagenbuch Styer. 

Bob was married for 39 years to the love of his life, Betty A. Bostian Styer who preceded him in death on March 21, 2007. They were married May 19, 1967.  

He served his country with the United States Air Force as a sergeant where he completed a tour in Vietnam. 

He was self-employed and was the owner of Bob Styer Construction for many years and also was a truck driver for Whitenight's Produce. 

Bob enjoyed designing and fabricating hitches.  One of his greatest enjoyments in life was a "good" auction, attending yard sales and flea markets.  He enjoyed going to tractor shows.  He gave generously to the annual Toys for Tots program.  Bob was known for his generous heart, always willing to help his friends and his family, all whom he adored spending time with. 

He is survived by one son; Robert M. Styer, Jr. and his wife Joan of Danville, and two daughters; Debra J. Guisewite-Smith and her husband David of White Deer, PA and Betsy A. Hans and her husband Larry of Milton, PA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Trista, Danielle, Sunni Jo, Rodney, Ryan, A.J., Brittany, Nathan and Adam and numerous great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is one brother, James Styer of Turbotville PA and two sisters; Nancy Carl and Paulla Kostelnick; both of Milton.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Sonny Guisewite and grandson, Shawn Guisewite. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA at 11:30 AM with Pastor Bonnie Wells officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
