Carmelita Hauck West, 86, of Danville, PA, left this world to be reunited
with her husband of 68 years, George K. West and her first born, Karl A.
West on Monday morning, February 29, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center,
Danville, PA. She is now walking in heaven's gardens, playing with Chen,
Coakie, Angie and Benji as well as other beloved pets and she is very much
at peace. Mary Carmelita was born March 4, 1929 in Danville, the daughter of
the late Arthur Earl and Anna Elizabeth Burke Hauck.
attended St. Cyril Academy, Danville, PA.
Carmelita was employed at various places throughout her life. She was
employed as a Housekeeper at Geisinger Medical Center, a Twister at Rosalyn
Yarns and a Cafeteria Worker at Danville Area High School from where she
was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Danville, PA.
Carmelita had many wonderful memories of the home George and she built on
Bald Top. She greatly enjoyed their flower gardens and walking in the woods.
Mary Carmelita also enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions with her sister
in law, Margie Chappel. Her yard with its flowers and birds and pets gave
her special delight. Mary Carmelita was a great cook and diligent worker.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.
Carmelita is survived by her best friend and companion, Shina, her beloved
dog as well as two daughters, Kathleen M. Harvey and Linda Ann West Mottern
and her husband Thomas. She is also survived by one grandson, Scott Mottern
and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin, and Amelia Mottern. Mary
Carmelita is also survived by her brother, Harold D. Hauck and his wife
Clara, as well as one sister-in-law, Jean Roup and three brothers-in-law
Dale West, Walt West and Bob West and his wife Bernice. Also surviving are
numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial to be
held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 18
Center Street, Danville, PA 17821 with Reverend Ignatius Madumere
officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Danville.
Friends will be received from 9:00am until the time of service in the Hubert
Chapel at the church.
