Virginia Tanner, 86, went peacefully home with the Lord, Monday, August 29,
2016 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville PA. She was born on March 21, 1930
in Northumberland, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Florence
Iona (Barow) Burnett.
Virginia was married to Luther Tanner who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Northumberland High School in 1949.
Virginia was employed in the Laundry Department at Bloomsburg Hospital for
25 years retiring in 1995.
Virginia enjoyed reading, crocheting, plastic canvas work and going to the
Bloomsburg Fair. Her claim to fame was that she was a cousin of Richard
Petty of Nascar. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Two granddaughters survive Virginia; Regina Guffey and Nancy Reichenbach
both of Danville, five great-grandchildren, Kari, Alyssa, Charles, Gage, and
Emily, and one great-great grandson, Silas.
Virginia was preceded in death by two children, Richard, and Patsy and one
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
