Minnetta M. Shenck

Minnetta M. Shenck, 99, formerly of Danville PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was born August 11, 1917 in Riverside PA the daughter of the late Calvin C., Sr. and Bertha Rudy Ryan.

She was married 61 years to the late Andrew L. Shenck who preceded her in death June 24, 2000. They were married April 23, 1939.

Minnetta was employed by Milco Industries in Bloomsburg PA during World War II and for a time afterwards. She worked at many part-time jobs over her lifetime including Bea Butlers in Danville PA.

She was a member of St. Peterís United Methodist Church Riverside PA where she was active in the Womenís Society.

One of her greatest enjoyments was bowling with the church bowling league. She was a talented seamstress and thoroughly enjoyed knitting and making crafts. She loved traveling with her husband after his retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Paula Swanger of Riverside and one granddaughter, Lori M. Swanger of Vancouver Washington and one sister, Maybelle Reamer of Riverside PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12: 00 Noon at St. Peterís United Methodist Church 240 Sunbury Road Riverside PA with the Reverend Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating. Burial will be private. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church. The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peterís United Methodist Church PO Box 428 Riverside PA 17868.
