R. Beyer,88, of 1506 Montour Blvd Danville, PA passed away Monday, March 14,
2016 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. She was born June 20, 1927
in Berwick PA the daughter of the late Clyde and Rubena Hershberger
was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Beyer in 1997. They were
married October 3, 1948.
graduated from Berwick High School in 1945 and from the George F. Geisinger
Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 as a registered nurse.
was employed as a registered nurse at Geisinger Medical Center and as a
private duty nurse.
was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church Danville PA. Her other
memberships included Daughters of the American Revolution Tah Gah Jute
Chapter of Danville PA; Daughters of the American Colonists Mequan Chapter
of Bloomsburg PA; Regents Clubs of Central PA DAR.; Valley Grange #1184, PA
Grange and National Grange, Susquehanna Sportsmen Association (Black Powder
Division); Northumberland County Historical Society; Columbia County
Historical and Genealogical Society, Montour County Genealogical Society;
Geisinger Nurses Alumni Association and the Susquehanna Valley Corral, Inc.
worked diligently along with the DAR Chapter Tah Gah Jute of Danville to
raise funds for a monument in the Danville Memorial Park honoring the
patriots who fought for freedom from England. This was completed and
dedicated a few years ago.
was very well known for her baking. She thoroughly enjoyed her genealogical
study, she loved to knit and crochet, creating Indian bead work, horse
riding and shooting. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with

Danville PA. She is also survived by one granddaughter; Shawna L. and one
great-grandson, Alex L.

Private graveside services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM in
the Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA with the Reverend C. Rayvon Hilliard of
Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.
