Margaret L. James

Margaret L. James, 67, of 319 W. Market St., Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born on November 29, 1948 in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late James R. "Bob" and Margaret R. (Chappell) McBride.

Margaret was married to the late Gary W. James who preceded her in death, April of 1996. They were married March of 1976.

She graduated from Danville Area High School in 1966.

Margaret was employed as a secretary for the Laubach Insurance Agency for many years. She will be fondly remembered as the friendly face at the Reception Desk at the Pine Barn Inn from where she retired.

Margaret enjoyed playing Bingo, family holiday gatherings, and bus trips every summer with her friends. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two aunts; Betty Day, her husband Wayne and their family of Danville, PA and Marian Gilbert and her family of Delaware; one uncle, Rick Mock, his wife Judy and their family of Middleburg, PA and one niece; Sharon Burak, her husband Tony and their family of Centreville, Maryland. Margaret is also survived by numerous cousins.

In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by one brother; Robert "Bobby" McBride.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:30AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street, Danville, PA 17821 with the Reverend Nancy Shank of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will provide flowers.
