Linda R. Temple

Linda R. Temple, 64,  of 73 Pepper Hills  Danville PA passed away December 5, 2016 at her residence.    She was born July 11, 1952 the daughter of the late Merril and Mary Marguerite West DeGreen. 

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Carl Temple.  They were married February 14, 1976. 

She graduated from Columbia Montour Vo-Tech and from Montour-Delong School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 

Linda was employed as an LPN at the Berwick Hospital Center Home Health and then at Maria Hall for 20 years as a Charge Nurse. 

She was an active member of Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ in Washingtonville PA. 

Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; all of whom she adored.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was being “Grammy” and spending time with them. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son; Robert C. Temple and his wife Lori of Danville PA and one daughter; Melissa Showers and her husband Joseph of Danville PA.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Amanda, Kayla, Ryan, Kira and Corinne and two great-grandchildren; Haileigh and Paisley.  She is also survived by one brother; Merril DeGreen of Butler PA.  She was preceded in death by one grandson, Dalyn Showers in 2007 and three sisters; Shirley Erlston, Nancy Cragle and Mary Mowrer. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 2016 at 5:00 PM at Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ 1 West Deihl Road Washingtonville PA with her pastor Shawn McNett officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Paul’s Straub’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Danville PA.   Friends will be received from 3:00 PM until 4:45 PM. 

The family will provide flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
