John R. M. "Jack" Curry III

November 6, 2016

John R. M. “Jack” Curry III of Danville, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 4, 2016. He was born on May 8, 1946 in Danville PA, the son of the late John R. M., Jr. and Marjorie “Peg” Glenn Curry.

Jack was a noted athlete from his years as a childhood Little League and YMCA champ through his impressive receiving records as a split end at Penn State.  He was the Vice President of the Danville High School class of ’64 and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in ’68.  He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  His adult years were spent as a Realtor at Booth & Deutsch and he spent his free time golfing and bowling.

Jack was well known and loved in Danville throughout his 70 years of life.  The Curry family cannot adequately begin to thank our friends, along with the incredible community of Danville, for their tremendous love and support throughout this sad experience. A heartfelt thanks is extended to the people who traveled from afar to say goodbye to Jack.  We always knew he was a special man, but we have been humbled greatly to witness the many people he has touched in his lifetime.  We all share in the loss of an incredible man.

He is survived by his two children, Lindsey (Andrew) Goldberg of Bala Cynwyd, PA, and John R. M. Curry IV of San Diego, CA; his two grandchildren, Alex and Samantha; and his sister Jane Curry of Philadelphia, PA.

A memorial service will be held at the Walzer Barn, 141 Roaring Creek Road Danville PA (Directions BELOW) Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Robert J. Andrews officiating.  Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.

The family will provide flowers.
