Emily Mae Ebling

Emily Mae Ebling, 98, formerly of Riverside PA passed away Monday morning, September 19, 2016 at the Colonial Park Care Center in Harrisburg PA. She was born March 31, 1918 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Shellhammer) Riley.

She was married for 55 years to the late William J. Ebling who preceded her in death January 18, 2008. They were married May 9, 1952 in Winchester, Virginia.

She was a homemaker and a foster mother to over 50 infants over the course of 30 years. During World War II Emily worked in an ammunitions factory in Lancaster, PA.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville PA since she was 11 years old.

Emily enjoyed solitaire, knitting, her precious animals, jigsaw puzzles with neighbors, yard sales and she especially loved Christmas time. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.

Emily is survived by one son, William J. "Skip" Ebling, II of Riverside PA and two daughters; Ann L. Ebling of Hummelstown PA and Susan L. Lippert and her husband Mervin of Halifax PA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Craig F. Ebling in 2008. She was also preceded in death by one brother Lewis D. Riley and five sisters; Elizabeth Snyder, Lucy Temple, Agnes Holdren, Lucille Riley and E. Frances Fleck.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 10 W Mahoning Street Danville, PA 17821 with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Burial will be private in the Fairview Cemetery.
