Eleanor L. Wray

Eleanor L. Wray, 94, formerly of 114 Mowery Street, Danville PA passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Grandview Nursing Home, Inc., Danville PA. She was born on August 9, 1922 in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late Wilbur R. and Hilda M. (Heimmiller) Raup.

Eleanor was married to Bruce E. Wray on May 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2000.

She graduated from Danville Area High School in 1940.

Eleanor was employed for 29 years by Danville Manufacturing and then retired from Danville State Hospital in 1985 after 13 years as Supervisor of Housekeeping.

She was a member of the Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church and Danville Chapter #186 Order of the Eastern Star.

Eleanor enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Eleanor is also survived by two sisters; June L. Livziey and Dorothy C. VonBlohn; both of Danville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons; Ronald R. Raup and Bruce E. Wray, II; two brothers; Donald W. Raup and James R. Raup and two sisters; Joanne Reibsome and Margaret Raup.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:30AM at Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church, 407 Pine Street, Danville, PA 17821 with the Reverend Dr. Lois D. Martin officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00am to 11:15AM. Burial will be private in Kase Cemetery, Riverside, PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 6051, Albert Lea, MN 56007, and the church.
