Hazel W. Green, 88

Hazel W. Green, 88, of Danville PA and formerly of East Stroudsburg PA died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 21, 2015 at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph Danville PA.   She was born March 23, 1927 in Poughkeepsie NY the daughter of the late John A. and Hazel Keene Wagner. 

She grew up in New York state and then moved to the Poconos where she met her future husband, George H. Green. They were married 45 years until his passing, July 11, 1997.   

Prior to marrying and becoming a devoted wife and loving mother, she had worked as a secretary in the Pocono area. 

Hazel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville PA and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in East Stroudsburg PA where she and her husband were very active.  She also was a dedicated volunteer in The American Red Cross where she received certificates of recognition for her many years of service. 

Hazel had a special love for animals; especially dogs. She enjoyed playing Scrabble most especially with her sister. The greatest enjoyment in her life was her family to whom she was devoted. 

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Davies of Danville PA and one sister Arlene Marcinkevicz of Mansfield PA; one niece, Sharon Davies of Mansfield PA and one nephew; Edward Marcinkevicz of Batavia NY. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 12:00PM Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 215 East Market Street, Danville, PA with the Reverend Trevor Hahn officiating. Burial will be private in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church PO Box 417 Danville PA or Animal Resource Center c/o Linda Bird 301 A Boone Road Bloomsburg PA  17815.
