William F. Toohey, Jr

William F. Toohey, Jr., 56, of 221 Rooney Avenue, Danville, PA, slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born January 7, 1959 in Long Island, New York, the son of the late William F. Toohey Sr. and Patricia Lockwood Toohey who survives. 

Billy graduated from Valley Central High School in Montgomery, New York in 1977. 

He served his country as an SP4 in the United States Army from 1980-1984 serving mainly in Hawaii. 

He was employed for 15 years for Weis Markets in the Janitorial Department from where he retired.  In previous years Billy worked in security at various places.  

Billy enjoyed computers and repairing them. He also enjoyed watching movies especially science fiction and loved animals. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family. 

In addition to his mother, Billy is survived by five sisters; Naomi Vogel of VT, Patricia Sampson of Gaylordsville, CT, Joann Sanchez of the Bronx, NY, Susan Kio of Hughesville, PA and Faith Dunkleberger of Williamsport, PA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister; Charity J. Toohey. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the Springer Chapel (on the lower level) at First Baptist Church, 20 Brookside Drive, Danville, PA (off 642 East) with the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland assisted by the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:45 AM. Burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. 

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project Memorial Fund, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
