Robert E. Romberger

Robert E. Romberger, 90, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville, surrounded by his wife and entire family. 

He was born on September 29, 1924 in Millersburg, PA the son of the late Iva and Paul Romberger. 

He was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Navy.  When the war ended, he went to Millersville University and earned a degree in Industrial Arts.  He then moved to Danville and taught shop class in the Junior High school for 33 years.  He was quite proud of and considered it a big privilege to instruct and help every male student that went through the Danville school system (for those 33 years) to learn the joys of building things.  He was also very active in coaching intramural football, basketball and baseball.  After retiring, he worked at the Pine Barn Inn for numerous years 

Bob loved to travel all over the country visiting family and friends along the way.  He also loved going to any beach and swimming in the ocean. 

He was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church in Danville for 62 years singing in the choir most of those years.  He also served as moderator of the session at Grove. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Gloria Nelson of Millersburg; his daughter Judy and husband Gene Gillaspy of Northumberland, his son Randy and wife Renee of Greenville, SC and son Scott of Danville.   He is also survived by five grandchildren; Lindsey Freeman, Nathan Romberger, Katie Frisbee, Shaun Gillaspy and Christopher Gillaspy and six great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Grove Presbyterian Church 330 Bloom Street Danville PA with his pastor, the Reverend Dr. Robert J. Andrews officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received from 2:45 PM until 3:45 PM in the Great Room at the church.  Flowers will be provided by the family.  Donations in Bobís memory and honor may be made to Grove Presbyterian Church, 330 Bloom St. Danville, PA 17821 or the Columbia Montour Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA  17815.
