John R. Becker, Jr.

John R. Becker, Jr., 69, of 103 Maple Street Danville PA, a faithful husband, devoted father and friend to all who knew him passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 26, 2015 after a lengthy illness of Lewy Body Dementia.  He was born August 13, 1946 in Danville PA the son the late John R. and Geraldine Freas Becker, Sr.  

He graduated from Danville High School in 1964. He served with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and was very proud to be an American.   

John  was married for 47 years to Linda Buck Becker.  They were married October 14, 1967. 

He was employed by numerous electrical contractors after graduating from high school. In 1993, he established his own electrical company, John's Electric and More.  He was very successful, gaining the respect and confidence of his many customers. 

John was a Christian and faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving on multiple committees and serving on the Board of Trustees for many years.  He was a member of  Danville-Mahoning Lodge #224 F&AM and a past Chief of East End Fire Company Danville PA.    He was also a life member of the National Rifle Association and Danville Moose Lodge #1133.   

He enjoyed fishing, target shooting and NASCAR.   

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons; Jack Becker and his wife Mandy of Lock Haven PA and Steve Becker of Riverside PA.  He is also survived by three sisters; Nancy Bartlow, Iris Bills and Sheila Kishbaugh and one sister-in-law Barbara Cooper.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with his beloved cats, Major and Lilly.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church 306 Lombard Street Danville PA  17821 with the Reverend Ronald S. French officiating assisted by the Reverend Rayvon Hilliard.   Burial will follow in Mooresburg Cemetery in Mooresburg PA.  Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.  Danville Mahoning Lodge #224 F&AM will conduct Masonic services at 10:00 AM.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Mission 327 Ferry Street Danville PA  17821 or The Salvation Memorial Fund 457 Market Street Williamsport PA  17701.
