Shirley V. Hendricks

Shirley V. Hendricks, 79, of Danville PA and a native of Montour County passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at the residence of her daughter, Pam Boyle. 

She was born July 31, 1935 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Arthur M. and Mary Louise Sechler Temple. 

She was married for 46 years to her loving husband, George L. Hendricks, who preceded her in death June 14, 1999. They were married February 22, 1953. 

She graduated from Danville High School in 1952. 

She was employed for 33 years at Geisinger Medical Center as a secretary in both the Orthopedics Clinic and Eye Clinic and eventually as a Lead Supervisor. 

Shirley was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville PA.   

She enjoyed puzzles and ceramics.  One of her greatest enjoyments in life was playing the piano and listening to music. 

She is survived by two sons; George W. Hendricks, Sr. and his wife Linda of Danville PA and James Hendricks of Bloomsburg PA and one daughter, Pamela Boyle and her husband Robert of Orangeville PA.  Also surviving are three grandchildren; George, Jr., Melinda and Dalton and five great-grandchildren; Mekayla, Aiden, Tyler, Brady and Chloe.  She is also survived by one sister, Constance McCloughan and her husband Charles of Selinsgrove and one half-brother, Robert Nygren and his wife Connie of Danville PA.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend R. Christian Dunlap, Hospice Chaplain officiating
