Frank E. Burton

Frank E. Burton, 77, of 200Wooded Heights Drive New Columbia PA entered into eternal rest with his wife, Kathy J. Von Blohn and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Jean Von Blohn by his side on Friday afternoon, March 7, 2014 at his residence.  He was born June 24, 1936 in Alliance Nebraska the son of the late Charles E. and Ida K. Gray Burton. 

He was raised on a cattle ranch and was part owner for many years after the passing of his parents.  Frank served his country with the United States Army for two tours in Vietnam as a combat helicopter pilot. 

Frank was employed as an Agricultural Pilot for many years.  His last job was with Allied Helicopters in Florida. 

He attended Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church in Potts Grove PA.  Frank was an avid reader and an avid bowler, enjoying the Thursday Night Men's League at Lewisburg Lanes as well as the Monday Morning League and the Saturday Night Mixed League at Imperial Lanes and the Friday Night Mixed League at John Wilcox Lanes before they closed and the Midway Lanes.  Frank also enjoyed working with leather and made many gifts for his family.  He was also well known for his famous roses that he faithfully tended so that he could share them with his family, church and friends. 

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, the former Kathy J. Von Blohn whom he married June 28, 1997.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Howard Burton of Bingham Nebraska and two sisters; Pauline Prewitt of Arizona and Irma Jo Hodges and her husband Keith of Bingham Nebraska.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers; Vernon and Harold Burton and one sister, Betty Douglas.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Frank's Life to be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church

4545 Route 642  Potts Grove PA with Pastor Charles W. North IV officiating.  Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM at the church.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church PO Box 70 Potts Grove PA  17865 or a charity of the donor's choice.
