L. Harding, 65, of 49 Franklin Road; Wysox, PA passed away Sunday, January
19, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She was born January
3, 1949 in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of the late L. Clayton and
Margaret E. Richards Lapp.
graduated from Williamsport High School in 1966 and from Lebanon Valley
College in Annville, PA in 1970 with a degree in Psychology.
earlier years, Donna was employed for seven years for the Department of
Public Welfare in Towanda, PA and then for several years by Bradford County
Mental Health. She met her husband, Lyle, while assigned to the disaster
center following the Agnes flooding in 1972. She was then employed as a
Laboratory Technician by the Robert Packer Hospital. For two years she was
employed by Towanda Memorial Hospital. She had been employed by Guthrie
Clinic in Sayre, PA from which she retired in 2011. Following her
retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Robert Packer Hospital.
was a former member of the American Association of University Women. When
her children were young, she volunteered as an administrative assistant at
Barclay Friends School in Towanda, PA. She enjoyed following her children's
activities including cross country meets, robotics competitions, marathons,
Ironman competitions, horse shows, and bicycle races. She was an avid animal
lover, especially of horses, owning two of her own. She loved to travel
with her husband and children to places such as the Caribbean, the Panama
Canal, Alaska, Hawaii, National Parks, and the beach.
is survived by her husband of 39 years, Lyle Harding whom she married
October 5, 1974, one son, Grant Harding of Brooklyn, NY, one daughter, Alexa
Harding of Rochester, NY, and one sister, Phyllis Pearson of Saginaw, MI.
She is also survived
by brothers-in-law Philip (Betty) Harding of Knoxville, PA, Leon Harding of
Knoxville, PA, and Robert Harding of Osceola, PA as well as sisters-in-law
Annette (Robert) Scholl of Dillsburg, PA and Jane (Dennis) Loucks of
Elkland, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Donna's life will be announced in the Spring by her family.
Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Bradford
