K. Shipe, 65, of 13 Weatherfield Drive Shamokin Dam PA went home to be with
his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his residence.
born April 22, 1949 in Bloomsburg PA the son of the late I. George and Norma
Fahringer Shipe. He is survived by his wife Donna Spencer Shipe. They were
married October 8, 1977 and would have celebrated 37 years of marriage.
graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1968. Dave served his country with
the United States Army from 1969-1972. He was employed as a psychiatric
aide for 26 years at Danville State Hospital from where he retired.
was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Selinsgrove. His other
memberships included being a lifetime member of Millville American Legion
Post 564, a member of the Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25, Fraternal
Order of Eagles in Sunbury PA, Shamokin Dam Fire Hall and the Koon Ridge Rod
and Gun Club in Sullivan County.
was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He was a
motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. One of his greatest
enjoyments was shooting pool. Dave was a devoted and loving husband, father
and grandfather who adored his family. He will be greatly missed by them
addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Gregory and his wife
Alicia of Manassas VA and Oliver Shipe of Portland Oregon and one daughter;
Stefanie Shipe and her fiancé Zane Farr of Silver Spring MD. He is also
survived by two grandchildren; Justin and Hunter. He is survived by two
brothers; John Shipe and his wife Maria of Belen NM and Chris Shipe and his
wife Diane of Berryville VA, and one sister, Sue Miller and her husband Tom
of Mechanicsburg PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dave’s life to
be held Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Victory Baptist Church 56
Abby Road Selinsgrove PA with the Reverend Rob Rines officiating. Friends
will be received from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Burial will be private and at
the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in
Annville PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church.
