Anita L. Hawk, 95, of Heritage Heights,
Danville PA went to her eternal rest with her loving family at her side on
Monday, May 27, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. She had
resided at Heritage Heights for the past 25 years and also had resided at
212 Ferry Street Danville PA. She was born June 12, 1917 in Harrisburg PA
the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Jones Harris.
She was employed as a seamstress for 40 years
by Danville Manufacturing, retiring in 1974. Mrs. Hawk enjoyed reading,
doing crossword puzzles and playing Solitaire. She especially enjoyed
watching polkas on television. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time
with her family whom she adored.
She was married for 39 years to the late
Luther F. Hawk who preceded her in death in 1974. She is survived by four
sons; Larry E. Hawk and his wife Jackie of Scarborough, Maine; Richard E.
Hawk of Ashland PA; Donald W. Hawk and his wife Linda of West Milford NJ and
John A. “Jack” Hawk and his wife Barbara of Danville PA and six daughters;
Barbara L. Day of Danville PA; Eva M. Long and her husband Robert of Jupiter
FL; Mary A. Getz and her husband Clyde of Danville PA and Donna E. Spicher
and her husband Lonnie of Danville PA; Sheryl A. Leavans and her husband Rob
of Nags Head NC and Thelma A. Piestrak and her husband Jim of Windham
Maine. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and nine
great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in
death by one son; Charles H. Hawk; one great-grandson, Christopher Getz and
two brothers; Thomas and Norman Harris and one sister, Verna Weber. She is
also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend
funeral services to be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at First
Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA (Off Route 642 East) with the
Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating assisted by the Reverend Dawes
Dunham. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA. Friends
will be received Wednesday evening 6-8 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10
West Mahoning Street Danville PA and 10:00 – 11:45 AM on Thursday at the
