Carl M. Jones, 83

Carl M. Jones, 83, of Danville, slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 24, 2012, at Nottingham Village Nursing Center, Northumberland, PA.  He was born April 1, 1929 in Danville, PA, the son of the late Montgomery Carl and Florence I. Fausey Jones. 

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Carl was employed by TRW, Danville, for 25 years.  He also worked at Northumberland County Housing Authority, Northumberland, PA.  Carl was a member of Goodwill Fire Company, Danville Fire Police, American Legion Honor Guard, American Legion, the former Eagles, Danville Moose and the VFW.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, camping, and fishing. Carl’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family.

Carl is survived by two sons; Carl D. Jones of Harrisburg, PA, Donald B. Jones and his wife Carla of Watsontown, PA, two daughters; Sharon L. Mausteller and her husband Raymond of Danville, PA and Linda L. Benfer of Watsontown, PA. Also surviving is one step-son, Matthew Baumgartner and his wife Angie of Watsontown, PA and one step-daughter, Barbara Kriner and her husband Clifford of Riverside, PA.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn S. Jones. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Childs and Blanche Hahn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services to be held next Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00pm at Fairview Cemetery, Danville, PA.

Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.

Memorial Contributions may be made to American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard, 175 Northumberland Street, Danville, PA 17821.
