He graduated from Council Rock High School in June 1954.

Joyously awaiting a reunion in Heaven was his wife of 53 years, Carol Ann Oetinger York who preceded him in death April 22, 2012. They were married August 29, 1958 at Pineville Community Chapel in Pineville PA.

Robert and his wife lived for many years on Smith Road in Pineville PA and relocated to central Pennsylvania upon retirement.  Robert was a veteran, serving in the Air Force from 1957-1961, stationed primarily in Texas.

Robert was employed by United Parcel Service for 32 years, retiring from the Willow Grove Center as a tractor trailer driver.

Robert was extremely active and enjoyed farming, hunting, and caring for the landscaping surrounding his home.  His pride and joy were his grandchildren to whom he gave so much of his time, love, and support. Robert knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a faithful attendee of Pineville Community Chapel for many years.  Following retirement he faithfully attended Augusta Baptist Church, then First Baptist Church of Trevorton PA.  Robert was given a special gift to see and meet the needs of others which he exercised so often, far more than anyone, except our Lord, really knows.
