Madeline Maynard Coleman Heines, 91

Madeline Heines, 91, a former resident of Fair Lawn NJ and Troy PA passed away at Nottingham Village Northumberland PA on Sunday, February 5, 2012.  She was born on July 28, 1920 in Syracuse, NY the daughter of the late Wilber and Carlotta Ray Maynard.  

Madeline completed nursing school at Paterson General Hospital, New Jersey and she worked as a LPN and scrub nurse at Barnet Hospital.  She retired as a gear inspector at Wright Aeronautical in New Jersey. 

She was a former member of Van Riper Ellis Memorial Baptist Church in FairLawn NJ and a member of Granville Center Church of Christ in Granville PA.  She participated in church Bible studies and was a VBS teacher.  Madeline was a 4-H leader in FairLawn NJ.   While living in Troy PA she was a Grange member, hospice volunteer and ombudsman.  Madeline led an active life and enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, crafts, camping, and traveling throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Madeline was married to the late Walter R. Coleman, and the late William G. Heines.  She is survived by her three children: Walter N. Coleman and his wife Nancy of Atlanta, GA, Robert W. Coleman and his wife Joanne of New Windsor, NY, and Madeline Baus and her husband Gerald of Northumberland, PA.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Madeline was preceded in death by one sister, Carlotta Hubshman. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the First Regular Baptist Church 2nd and Queen Streets Northumberland PA.   Friends will be received from 2:30 PM until the time of service at the church. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 7th at 1:00 PM at Granville Church of Christ Cemetery, Granville Center, PA with Pastor John Rees officiating.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northumberland Christian School, 351 5th Street, Northumberland, PA 17857.
