Kathryn I. Brosius

Kathryn I. Brosius, 92, formerly of Riverside, PA passed away Tuesday evening, July 3, 2012 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville, PA where she had been a guest since October of 2007.  She was born March 26, 1920 in Rush Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Sarah A. Stine Leiby.   

She attended the Rushtown One Room School through 8th grade.  She was employed for 20 years at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA in the Housekeeping Department from where she retired.   

She was a member of the former Rushtown Methodist Church.  Kathryn enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, puzzles and playing pinochle.   Her greatest enjoyment in life was being a homemaker and spending time with her family. 

She was married to the late Charles E. Brosius who preceded her in death in 1962.  She is survived by one son, Charles E. Brosius and his wife Joann of Riverside PA and two daughters; Beatrice H. Costill of Danville PA and Dorothy I. Long and her husband William of Ewing, Kentucky.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Agnes Gable, one granddaughter, Penny Gable and one great-grandson, Bret Gable.  She was also preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Leiby and two sisters; Stella Baumer and Edna McCormick.  Several nieces and nephews are also surviving.   

Private graveside services will be held at Kase Cemetery Riverside PA with the Reverend Mary B. Schmotzer officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grandview Health Homes, Inc. 49 Woodbine Lane Danville PA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
