Ida Mae Straub

Ida Mae Straub, 69, of 293 Stine Road, Danville, PA passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at her home.  She was born March 3, 1943 in Exchange, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Beatrice G. Snyder Bostian, Sr. 

She had been employed as an inspector for various textile mills in the Danville area. She was a member of Sheep’s Bible Church, Danville, PA.  Ida was also a member of the Montour Antique Farm Machinery Collector’s Association and the Indian Run Social Hall, Danville, PA.  

Ida enjoyed flea marketing and unique jewelry making.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family whom she adored.  

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Calvin R. Straub, whom she married, September 9, 1994.  Also surviving are four daughters; Linda McCormick and her husband William of Danville, PA; Pamela Ulrich and her husband Todd of Danville, PA; Felicia Koser and her husband Preston of Danville, PA and Melissa Kolenda of Muncy, PA. She is also survived by three step-sons; Daniel Straub of Millville, PA; David Straub and his wife Brenda of Watsontown, PA and Donald Straub of Berwick, PA.  Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers; Thomas H. Bostian, Jr. and his wife Maudell of Danville, PA and Walter G. Bostian, Sr. and his wife Vickie of Danville, PA.  Ida is also survived by two sisters; Frances B. Bostian of Danville, PA and Alice K. Brobst of Bloomsburg, PA.  She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Robert M. Styer, Sr., as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Darin Straub in 2001 and a sister, Betty A. Styer in 2007. 

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Milton McKinney officiating.  Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery, Danville PA.  Friends will be received Saturday 5:00-8:00 PM and 12:00 PM until time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Hospice 100 Academy Drive MC-11 Danville PA 17822.  www.visneski.com
