George K. Keener


November 16, 2012


George K. Keener, 72, of 430 Wolverton Road Sunbury PA passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his residence.  He was born November 22, 1939 in Danville PA the son of the late George and Anna Greely Keener. 

He attended Danville High School.  He served in the United States Navy.  He was a member of Faith Chapel in Danville PA and the American Legion Danville PA. 

In earlier years, Mr. Keener was employed by KVS in Danville PA. 

He enjoyed fishing and reading Proverbs.  He loved to attend auctions, especially livestock auctions.  He entered rabbits each year at the Bloomsburg Fair.  In earlier years, he enjoyed motorcycle riding.  

He is survived by three daughters; Saundra Swank of Catawissa PA, Diane Riegel and her husband Glenn of Bloomsburg PA and Angela Mirarchi and her husband David of Greensboro NC.   Also surviving are four grandchildren; Ryan, Kaelah, Zach and Madelyn.  He is also survived two brothers; John Barry English of Danville PA and Charles Gary English of Riverside PA.  Also surviving are three sisters; Saundra L. Grozier and her husband Barrie of Vestal NY; Kathleen A. Creasy and her husband Jim of Danville PA and Sarah L. Wertman and her husband Harry of Buckhorn PA.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Noon at Faith Chapel 2351 Snydertown Road Danville PA with Pastor Bill Renno officiating.  Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Stonington PA.  Military rites will be accorded.  Friends will be received from 10:30 until the time of service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Children of Fallen Soldiers PO Box 3968 Gaithersburg MD  20855-3968 or the church.
