Lois K. Dykins, 81

Lois K. Dykins, 81, of 1111 Weldon Street Montoursville PA passed away peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was born August 25, 1930 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Walter H. and Hazel Bookmiller Kashner.   

She graduated from Danville High School in 1948.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church Montoursville PA and a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church Danville PA.  Lois had been employed as a medical secretary by Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.   

Lois was an avid sports fan, especially for the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leonard H. “Bud” Dykins whom she married July 3, 1957.  Also surviving is one brother, Robert Kashner and his wife Lois Jean of Danville PA.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald W. Kashner.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Charles E. Gummo, retired Methodist minister officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to either Lupus Foundation of America PO Box 41629 Boston MA  02241/donate online to www.lupus.org/donate or Arthritis Foundation PO Box 96280 Washington DC  20078/donate online to www.arthritis.org/hope. www.visneski.com
