Michael W. "Mike" Summers

Michael W. “Mike” Summers, 55, of 115 Trump Road Danville PA was received into the loving arms of His Savior on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  He was born March 17, 1956 in Danville PA the son of D. M. Summers of Danville PA and the late William F. Summers. 

He graduated from Columbia Montour Vo-Tech in 1974. 

He was employed at Hawkins Chevrolet Danville PA as a Parts Specialist for 33 years where he was well known for his smile and dedicated attentiveness to his customers and to his “family” at Hawkins Chevrolet. 

Mike was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville PA.  Other memberships included the Washington Fire Company where he served as Treasurer and was an active volunteer.  He was also a member of the Danville Moose. 

Mike was an avid sports fan which included faithfully watching ESPN.  He was an avid NY Yankees fan and NASCAR enthusiast.  Mike’s greatest enjoyment in his life was spending quality time with his family whom he adored. 

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Donna Sabol Summers whom he married July 17, 2004.  Also surviving is one son, Todd Michael Summers and his wife Jenny of Mingoville PA and one daughter Sara Elizabeth Summers of Bloomsburg PA.  He is also survived by five grandchildren; Andrew, Austin, Araelia, Anthony and Asher.  Also surviving are two brothers, his twin brother Tom R. Summers and his wife Gail of Riverside PA and Joel Summers of Danville PA and his sister, Christine Wesolowski and her husband Steve of Danville PA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Mike’s life to be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church East Market and Church Streets Danville PA with the Reverend Michael A. Greenauer officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM in the small chapel at the church.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be to the Animal Resource Center c/o Linda Bird 301-A Boone Road Bloomsburg PA  17815.
