Lucille I. “Lucy” Snyder, 67, of 25 Normar Road Danville PA went home to be
with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 25, 2011 at her residence. She
was born April 9, 1943 in Sunbury PA the daughter of the late Roy Grant and
Katherine Irene Kerstetter Mull.
graduated from Sunbury High School in 1961 and The Danville School of
Nursing as an LPN in 1975. Lucy graduated from Bloomsburg University in
1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She was employed as an LPN by
the Sunbury Community Hospital from where she retired. She had also been
employed by Maria Hall in Danville PA as an LPN. Lucy was an active member
of First Baptist Church of Danville where she served faithfully in the choir
and in the bell choir. She enjoyed hostessing a Special Women’s Bible Study
on Thursday evenings in her home. Lucy always had a servant heart ready to
volunteer where she was needed including the Ronald McDonald House in
Danville PA and Compeer in Bloomsburg PA. Lucy’s greatest enjoyments
included reading her Bible daily and spending time with her family. She
also enjoyed traveling.
survived by her husband of 29 years, Kenneth L. Snyder whom she married
November 1, 1981 and three daughters; Sallie Simmons and her husband Rod of
Northumberland PA; Christine I. Hassinger of Danville PA and Wendy Breon and
her husband Paul of Northumberland PA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one stepson, Larry
Snyder of Longview, TX and one step-daughter, Tammy Gaul of Sunbury PA.
Also surviving is one brother, Dale Mull of Shawsville VA and two sisters;
Dolores Baxter of Kennett Square PA and Carol Long of Northumberland PA.
Several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was preceded in death by
one brother, Donald Mull and one sister, June Miller.
friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Lucy’s life which will be
held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church 20 Brookside
Drive (off of 642 East) Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Harry H.
Wonderland officiating assisted by the Reverend Dawes Dunham. Burial will
follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA. Friends will be received from
9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the church. The family will provide flowers.
