Ever since Vic Lisiewski was
attending school in Mount Carmel, he knew he wanted to be a mechanic.
While he was at the Williamsport Area Community College,
studied solely transmissions for 2 years so that he could specialize in
the area of automotive repair, which Vic enjoyed most. When Vic
graduated from WACC, he worked at SV Transmissions and gained a plethora
of transmission knowledge so that he could utilize it at his own
automotive repair garage. After working just 2 years at SV
Transmissions, Vic began his career as a self-employed transmission
specialist at Vic's Transmissions.
Vic built a fully equipped garage in the back of his mother's yard on
South Locust Street in Mount Carmel. It was in this location that Vic
founded his principles that he continues to follow to this day: honesty
with his customers, friendliness, and above all, quality service that is
based on Vic's unfailing dedication to his trade. Vic also began his
ATSG Certification in Mount Carmel, in which he can offer customers a
one year or 12,000 mile nationwide warranty, along with annually
attending the transmission service group's seminars.
years while Vic was beginning his business, and during every year that
followed, Vic received lots of help from his wife, Julie, who now helps
with payroll and other book work; his mother, Dorothy, who has kept the
office work neat, organized, and correct; and his grandfather, Tom, or
also know as Pop-pop, who was eager to help in any way that he could,
especially in constructing various devices that made the strenuous work
in the garage much easier. Perhaps it was because of this loving help
that Vic's Transmission continued to grow.
years of working in Mount Carmel and opening up an additional location
in the same town to stock all the parts that just couldn't fit in the
more, Vic felt that it was time to expand. Vic's Transmissions
officially moved to 146 N. Market Street in Elysburg in November of 1999.
Now, the business has a 3000 square ft. garage with three lifts and lots
of storage space, a spacious waiting room, where customers can
comfortably sit and read, and an equally spacious office, where Vic
keeps his electronic devices up to date and organized.
Transmissions began with one employee, who was Vic himself. Today in
2017, the business has 6 employees, who are all very qualified,
extremely hard working, and always friendly. Steve Cambria has been
working with Vic since the business was in Mount Carmel. Andy Bendas and
Tim Brouse began working for Vic here in Elysburg, and are dedicated
technicians who make Vic's Tranmsissions a great place to work, as well
as a comfortable place to visit.
